MAZ-525

Description

The MAZ-525 is a dump truck initially designed by the YaAZ as the YaAZ-225 and produced by the MAZ from 1951 to 1965.

In 1959, production was handed over to the BelAZ under the same name.

1952 transmission update

In 1952, the MAZ-525 and its variants received an additional forward gear (5-speed) for their transmission.

1952 fascia update

In 1952, the Zubr that was on top of the hood was displaced as a stamp on the sides of it. The hood also got narrower.

1952 MAZ-E-525D

In 1952, the MAZ used the MAZ-525 as a base to produce the MAZ-E-525D semi-trailer tractor for use with the D-189 scraper.

1954 MAZ-525 KhTTU

In 1954, the MAZ-525 was used for the prototype trolley dump-truck MAZ-525 KhTTU. It was fitted with dual electric motors from a trolleybus and catenary hooks.

1959 MAZ-525A

In 1959, the BelAZ experimented using the MAZ-525 as a tractor for the BelAZ-5179 dump semi-trailer (MAZ-525A).

1959 MAZ-541

The same year, three airport tugs based on the MAZ-525 were produced as the MAZ-541.
