==== Description ====
The __MAZ-543__ is a heavy //universal tractor// developed by the MAZ since **1958** and based on the **[[maz-537|MAZ-537]]**. The first real __MAZ-543__ was produced in **1962** but mass production started in **1965**((whatever the fuck this means)).

It was designed as a TEL for the SS-1c Scud B missile as part of the 9K72 system.

In **1966** started production of the **[[maz-543a|MAZ-543A]]**, an updated version with many slight changes allowing for wider multipurpose role.

In **1972**, the **[[maz-543v|MAZ-543V]]** served as an experimental one-cab version of the __MAZ-543A__. It later evolved into the **[[maz-543m|MAZ-543M]]**.
